French ⇄ Portuguese
Sworn interpreter
Certified interpreting services
Just like translation, interpreting involves transferring meaning from one language to another. The difference is that translation is written, while interpreting is spoken and delivered in real time. My role is that of a communication facilitator, interpreting spoken words accurately so that all participants can communicate clearly and effectively. The goal is always complete mutual understanding.
As a sworn interpreter for French ⇄ Portuguese, I primarily work with the French Ministry of Justice and the Interior.
Private clients also frequently request my services for notarial matters, such as property purchase and sale agreements, or marriage- and civil-partnership-related interviews.
Most frequently requested types of interpreting
Consecutive interpreting
This service is commonly used in hearings, marriage- and civil-partnership ceremonies, police interviews, and property sale agreements, among other settings. I listen carefully to the speaker, take notes, and interpret at regular intervals, alternating between French and Portuguese to ensure clear and effective communication for all participants.
Whispered interpreting
Whispered interpreting is a type of simultaneous interpreting. Instead of working from a booth, I sit or stand next to one or two participants and quietly whisper the speaker’s words into their ears.
