A very different way to learn French

Would you like to improve your French or learn the basics?

Aside from being an intellectual process, learning a language is also a sensory discovery. The sounds and written words of a language can create a whole range of colours, scents and emotions. It truly is a journey through the senses on which you can discover or build your knowledge of the French language.

Private lessons or classes with no more than four students.

To make your stay in France truly unforgettable, we offer four scenarios: well-being, French cuisine, culture and heritage and supervised sports activities.

Well-being

Eat well, do an activity you enjoy and relax!

French lessons focused on vocabulary associated with well-being to enable you to understand the advice of the specialists who will be accompanying you during your stay in France: doctors, dieticians, beauticians, Pilates, yoga and dance teachers, sports coaches, hairdressers etc.

French cuisine

A great opportunity to experience flavours that your taste buds will remember forever. The French lessons will grant you complete autonomy to order your meal without stuttering in French restaurants, bistros, brasseries and cafés, as well as the vocabulary needed to attend a cookery course with a French chef. Back in your home country, your guests will be impressed by your refined demeanour!

Culture and heritage

Since the beginning of Madame THEDIM’s career, over 30 years ago, and always using structured methods; shows, concerts and heritage are prioritised in her didactic programme. The French lessons cover the entire lexicon needed to understand art events and visits to exhibitions, museums and monuments of your choice.

Outdoor activities under supervision

Self-discovery also involves discovering nature while respecting the environment and safety regulations. France offers a wide range of year-round outdoor activities: hiking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, canoeing, sailing, swimming, diving, skydiving, skating, skiing etc.. During your French lessons, you will have access not only to the technical jargon of the sport of your choice, but also to a wealth of information about the best spots!

The French for Specific Purposes (FSP) teaching method adopted by Mrs. Maria Thedim, PhD targets the acquisition of vocabulary related to the student’s professional life, through playful activities: songs, videos and theatrical performances. Students assimilate French sounds by learning phrases associated with a specific context. The focus lies exclusively on the vocabulary of the professional environment studied.

It also serves to prepare students for the DELF PRO A2 Exam held by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a preliminary stage in their preparation for the Diplôme de Français Professionnel (DFP) / Diploma in Professional French which is also offered at this chamber.

The Diploma in Professional French features assessment activities underpinned by authentic exercises that simulate real-life professional situations. It is entirely designed to test the learner’s ability to apply their language skills in a professional environment. The DFP can be taken with a focus on several areas such as business, tourism, hotel management and catering, and international relations. The choice depends on the candidate in question and their professional goals.

Whether you intend to build your clientele, improve your chances of getting a new job or a promotion within the company where you work, the DFP is sure to make your CV stand out.

Whether you are taking an online course, an intensive programme or exchange course; you will learn to speak French while having fun!

Although play and leisure are often seen as just irresponsible fun and games, according to Maria Thedim, who holds a PhD in Language and Culture Didactics from Sorbonne University, these are the ideal moments to learn something new. Playful learning enables students to develop important skills such as attention and memory.

It is through play that children find a way of relating to the people and objects around them. Accordingly, this fun way of discovering and exploring how the world works is extremely conducive to foreign language learning for adults as well. Learning through play is directly linked to the development of self-esteem and autonomy. Learning is more enjoyable and play becomes a means of expression.
